What Is Watches & Wonders Geneva 2024?
Watches & Wonders Geneva is still a relatively new show, but it is based on the legacy of a few now-defunct wristwatch and jewelry trade shows that came before it, which have been held for over 100 years. Watches & Wonders emerged in 2020 as an evolution and expansion of the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) following the sudden and rapid demise of Baselworld that same year. While other watch industry trade shows exist, what makes Watches & Wonders special is its size and its focus on high-end timepieces. While many of the companies exhibiting at Watches & Wonders are fierce competitors (and others are sister brands owned by the same groups), they come together as best they can under one roof to meet with media, retailers, suppliers, and members of the public.
What’s the hottest topic at the moment? That would be the teaser video put out by Rolex on what will be a new watch unveiled.
The show is open to the general public (with tickets) from April 13th to the 15th. The booths are so stunning they are a big part of the show.
Fortunately for the rest of us, most of the big watch YouTubers will be there and be broadcasting on what’s going on.
Many of the watch brands are pricey and well made but readily available. The hot Rolex medals won’t be. Ask at the airport and either get laughed at or scolded.
