Teddy Baldassarre Has A Physical Store
The king of YouTube watch channels now sells through clicks-and-mortar
If you inhabit the YouTube watch scene, either as a passive viewer or a participant, there is one name you’re bound to know; that of Teddy Baldassarre.
With his good looks, traditional American fashion sense, and very-hip-but-somehow-not-coastal style, he’s someone the average American viewer would feel comfortable talking most any subject with, and particularly if that subject concerns wristwatches.
Teddy represents many watchmakers in his online watch store - I hesitate to try to estimate how many because that number is no doubt too low.
His videos have taken us on trips through the watchmaking regions of Switzerland and Germany, helping us understand the craftsmanship and attention to detail that the master watchmaking brands are committed to.
Look for instance at the great glimpse he gave us in to the factory of Glashütte in Germany:
Or the extremely nerdy but well produced look at how the Grand Seiko Spring Drive operates:
I can say without exaggeration that this video made me a fan of GS Spring Drive. The watch case and dial were never of super appeal to me; like many Japanese products it was very well made but a little bland. But it will be my next watch, because I’m so in awe of the Spring Drive and what it can do.
Teddy has now opened his retail store:
Located in Westlake Ohio, he carries there all of his many brands, but highlighting Grand Seiko, Glashütte, Breitling and Omega.
When I saw this video, I immediately sent it to my YouTuber pal D, and his immediate reply: “Road Trip!” Absolutely.
Soon.
